Privacy Policy

This policy explains how MyChembur, a CNCT Media venture, handles information when you use the app and website or contact us.

Effective Date

8 April 2026

Information We Collect

You can read stories without an account, and onboarding does not request profile details. Depending on the features you use, we process:

• Account information: if you choose Sign in with Apple, your Apple sign-in identifier, the name and email Apple makes available (including a private relay address if selected), and information needed to maintain your session.

• Installation and technical information: limited app, device, and connection information needed to operate and improve the service.

• Notification information: an Apple Push Notification service device token when available.

• Usage and communications: page and story view counts, and information you choose to send when contacting support or suggesting news.

The app does not request precise device location, contacts, photos, or payment information for its current features.

How We Use Information

We use this information to deliver and update stories, manage sign-in and saved-story sync, remember setup and notification preferences, send local updates, understand readership and installation activity, respond to messages, and maintain service reliability and security. Limited installation information may also be included in internal operational email alerts.

We do not sell or rent your personal information or share it with third-party advertisers.

Accounts and Saved Stories

Sign in with Apple is optional and is required to save and sync stories. Account details and bookmarks are stored on our servers; the app also keeps a local cache. Sign-in credentials are stored using Apple’s Keychain. We do not receive your Apple account password.

On-Device Storage

The app stores downloaded stories, preferences, notification state, and cached bookmarks on your device. An app-generated installation identifier is kept in Keychain and may persist after reinstalling. Device backups and system services may handle local data according to your settings.

Push Notifications

If you allow notifications, Apple and our backend process the device token and subscription information needed to deliver updates. You can manage permission in iPhone Settings → Notifications → MyChembur. Turning notifications off does not prevent other service requests or technical records described in this policy.

Service Providers and External Pages

We use Apple for sign-in and notification delivery, Supabase for story content and readership counts, and CNCT Media-managed hosting, database, and email infrastructure to operate the service. Providers process information needed for those functions. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to protect the service.

Opening a publisher’s source page or another external link is subject to that provider’s privacy practices. Sharing uses the apps and recipients you choose. Website requests for fonts, libraries, and Chembur weather and air-quality information also contact external providers, which receive connection information such as your IP address; the weather display uses fixed Chembur coordinates, not your device location.

Retention and Account Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, support users, maintain security, and meet operational or legal requirements.

You can choose Delete account in the app’s Settings and confirm with the same Apple account to remove your account, profile, and saved stories. Signing out or uninstalling does not delete your server account. Account deletion does not automatically remove separate installation, notification, operational, or support records; contact us about those records. Backup or legally required records may be retained where applicable.

Your Choices

You can read without signing in, manage notification permissions, remove saved stories, sign out, or delete your account. Contact info@mychembur.com to request access, correction, or deletion of information we hold. We may need to verify the request before acting.

Children’s Privacy

MyChembur is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and address it.

Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy as features or service practices change. The Last updated date below identifies the latest revision.
