Vidyavihar Flyover Off Ramchandra Chemburkar Road Opens October 10

Vidyavihar Flyover Off Ramchandra Chemburkar Road Opens October 10

Chembur’s east–west hop just got a concrete date. BMC says major works on the 650-metre, two-lane Vidyavihar flyover — linking Ramchandra Chemburkar Road on the east with Lal Bahadur Shastri Road on the west across Vidyavihar station — are done, with only noise barriers left. Painting, lighting and road finishing are complete; the bridge spans 100 metres over the tracks plus 220-metre and 330-metre approaches. Ticket offices, the station master’s office and staircases were rebuilt, and a flyover access drops onto station footpaths. Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Abhijit Bangar inspected the site with traffic police on October 8 and ordered coordinated signage and peak-hour plans so approaches do not clog when the flyover opens around October 10.
