Fire Breaks Out in Tilak Nagar High-Rise
A fire broke out on the fourth floor of a 15-storey residential building in Tilak Nagar, Chembur, on Wednesday evening, prompting a quick response from the Mumbai Fire Brigade.
The incident was reported around 7:15 pm at Building No. 110, B Wing, Road No. 13. According to fire officials, the blaze originated in a room on the fourth floor and affected electrical wiring, ceiling material, wooden furniture and documents.
Firefighters reached the building and brought the fire under control by around 8:01 pm, using one small hose line. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were involved in the operation.
As a precautionary measure, 33 residents were rescued and moved safely to the terrace. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, BMC staff, ambulance services and the electricity distribution company were among the agencies present at the scene.
