Chembur is among the worst-hit areas as Mumbai’s massive road concretisation project struggles to keep pace ahead of the monsoon.
With over 531 roads still dug up across the city, Chembur’s Zone V alone has 89 stretches under work, raising concerns for daily commuters and residents.
While the BMC has completed around 56% of the ₹17,000 crore project, officials are now racing to reach 80–85% completion before the rains hit.
The full project timeline extends till May 2027, but for now, Chembur residents may have to brace for a challenging monsoon commute.
