Chembur Schools get a 13-day Diwali break from Nov 2 to 14
Parents in Chembur can start planning: schools across Maharashtra will be closed for Diwali from Monday, November 2, to Saturday, November 14, under the Education Department’s 2026-27 academic calendar. Classes resume on Monday, November 16, when the second semester begins.
The break applies to all recognised primary, secondary and higher secondary schools, and covers Dhanteras (Nov 6), Diwali Padwa or Balipratipada (Nov 10) and Bhaubij (Nov 11). The first semester ends on October 31.
Schools can’t change these dates on their own. Any shift for local festivals needs prior approval from the education authorities, and the state caps holidays at 76 days a year with at least 230 working days. Some parents have said their schools follow a different schedule, so check with your child’s school for its final notice.
Looking ahead, the second semester runs until May 1, 2027, and summer vacation is from May 3 to June 14, 2027.
